Fast growing and strong vines for warm regions. Use Luffa as a body sponge or as a kitchen scrubber. After harvesting, dry the luffa for 2 weeks until the skin is firm then uncover the larger end and shake out the seeds. Soak the sponge overnight before peeling off the outer skin and drying it in the sun to dry. Unripe fruit can be peeled and cooked to a taste similar to zucchini.
